2001 Chevy Malibu overheating

OK I replaced the upper and lower intake gaskets thermostat reservoir bled
the system. engine ran at idle over an hour no problem, but when I took it for a
test drive within a half mile it over heated and I lost heat in the car. How do I fix
this

It could be a few things, you may have a clogged radiator, did you flush the cooling system with a good flush product? the fins on the radiator are they cleaned? the passages could be clogged. Is the fan coming on when they should? is the water pump working?
