Why is my 2001 Chevy Malibu overheating

I wanna know why my car is over heating. I
changed the thermostat. The fans are
running and have a year old radiator. Also
got all the air out the line. When I have it
parked and idling, it's running fine, can rev it
up and all. But when I put it in gear, it's
stutters and the RPMs go down real low and
it sounds like it wants to kill. Then when I try
to press on the gas, it doesn't want to go at
first, and doesn't shift. I have to let off the
accelerator to make it shift. And when I get
not even a quarter mile down the road, it's
overheating and anti-freeze is coming out
the over flow tube of the reservoir

you have a 3.1 or a 3.4 the intake manifold gasget was designed to thin and if you look it is dribbleing. you mayhave BLOWN A HEAD GASKET. you can go deep trying to fix or you can try a can of blue devil and follow instructions

You prob have this fixed by now, what was the outcome? You may have a few issues, and the bog down and shift problem sounds like a plugged cat converter

I have the same issue. New water pump, new thermostat, also had radiator pulled and checked and system flushed, was told it's flowing good and mixing. When my car started to overheat, open the bleeder just enough to shoot steam, and the needle begins to fall. Some days, it runs normal and doesn t act up at all. I heard that pressure releasecoming off of water pump may simply be clogged and in need of changing.
