Engine light flashing and car is shaking when put on brakes

My 2008 Charger’s engine light started flashing.
When I put on the brakes it stops but the car
shakes until I use the gas pedal then it stops
shaking but the engine light comes back on.
Please help! Can I drive it? It is a long way to the
dealership!

My son just had the same exact problem with my 2007 Charger..any idea what this is about ??
