2008 Mercedes C180 sudden electrical malfunction of just about everything

Asked by Margaret Nov 29, 2016 at 09:08 PM about the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

During light rain, got message for brake fluid. Short distance later service
message. Headlights switched themselves on. Wiper failed. Radio stopped.
Window wouldn't close then did by itself. Gearshift wouldn't change. Horn
started beeping, then continuously. Turning off and restarting did not help.
Finally disconnected battery, now won't start again. Where do we start to look
for the problem? Help!

Bad Computer/brain/PCM,you will need a certified mercede,s mechanic with the right diagnostic tool.s to fix this issue.

Just a guess here but if you can unplug the PCM there is probably water in the connection. If it can be dried out and sealed to keep moisture out with dielectric grease you MIGHT solve the problem. You will probably lose all the codes in the system so be prepared to deal with that. It MIGHT be worth a try.
