Oil life

Asked by silkehenke Aug 09, 2018 at 09:49 AM about the 2008 Ford Taurus X

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am way out of town up in Northern Ontario, and usually have my car
serviced in Toronto where I live. I had to do an unexpected amount of extra
driving, and while doing so, my Oil Life alert came on.  I am now at 2% Oil
Life, and a 4 hour drive from Toronto.  Is it safe to drive my car for that long?
My other option is to cut my vacation short, and drive for 1.5 hours to
somewhere I can get an oil change...?

I would change the oil. If you do not want to then check the oil level and top it off if needed.
