Check charging system light stays on all the time
how do I find out what's wrong with it sometimes it
will kill the battery and I have to jump it off

You will need a voltage meter to check the system. With the engine not running, the battery should have about 12 volts. After starting the engine, the voltage should rise to 13.5 or more volts. If it doesn't then you likely need a new alternator. Some parts stores like Advance Auto or AutoZone will check your alternator for free.
