Dash freaks out when I start the engine

Asked by yomeny1 Aug 10, 2019 at 01:53 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've had this car for around a year, ran good and barely any
issues until now. Whenever I start the car or sometimes
when I'm driving the gauges and lights will go crazy. I do
have a remote starter too but it isn't working anymore.

My guess is the battery is weak. Have the battery tested. How old is it?

When you first start the engine all the warning lights should come on briefly and the gauges fully cycle as a function check.
