2006. plenty of time for both filaments to burn out. Personally. have a 2006 MINI with one burned out back-up light, but haven't the gumption to change this right away.

By running lights are you meaning the day time running lights, or the parking/side marker/tail lights? If the former, it is a control module, since the day time lights work on the front turn signal bulbs. If it is the latter, what about your dash lights? If they are not working as well, check the fuse. If the fuse is good, then chances are you need a new headlamp switch. HOPE that is all it is because if that isn't it, you may need to reflash or replace the body control module. Reflashing isn't outrageous, but you don't want to know the price of a body control module.

Check the fuses. If the fuse is blown, check the wiring in the rear. The wiring was open to damage in the earlier models.

I am having the exact same issue. Everything on my 2006 express van is working except for the running lights. The fuses, dash lights, the headlights, brake lights, blinkers, reverse, all of those work and are in good condition. But when my headlights are on(or the switch is turned to those), the "low beam/running" lights are off. I guess i'll check the switch and see if that's the problem, and check the bulbs. Otherwise, i'm gonna have to take it to my mechanic.

Check the fuse under the drivers seat. There is where your problem most likely is.
