1989 nessan pick-up truck

At an idle it runs great, but spits and spaters in 1st and 2nd gear or under any type of a load on it. We've changed out both fuel filters (1 in the tank and the other on the frame rail on the front right side of the truck

Diffinitly check the cap and rotor, they have problems with the rotor melting a hole in between the contact points.
