1989 Nissan D21

Stock 1989 Nissan D21 2.4L Truck. I changed the head gasket now the came
gear wont go back on. How do you lossen up timing chain tensioner to get cam
gear back on

Be sure you keep the timing in sinc. If there is any sideways movement in the chain, put the chain over the sprocket then slip it back onto the camshaft end. You may have to gently compress the tensioner. If that doesn't work, you may have to open the connector link to get slack. Or remove the tensioner. Watch your timing.
