Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I want to buy a new VW bug and would like to get something for my old one that is garage kept but does not run.  Should I put money into it to make it run or sell as is?

You could run an ad on Craig's List and see what you can get. I would think that if the car is in good shape other than the engine and top you might get $2 to 3,000. Look for other ads for similar cars and price it accordingly.

Now this is just a guess but a new top and engine might cost around $5,000. You would have to decide if the car is worth that much. Then again if you are lucky maybe the engine just needs a little work. Why was the car parked and never driven again?

I sure wish I saw this when it was a new post. I would have been there as soon as I could for this one.... What did it sell for?
