MY BUG STARTS & RUNS GREAT FOR ABOUT 15 - 20 MINUTES, THEN STARTS BACKFIRING & LOSES POWER & DIES. WILL RESTART AFTER A FEW MINUTES

I HAVE NEW CARB, NEW, COIL, NEW TUNEUP??

Look to see that your points are clean. Pull a thin piece of paper or matchbook through the closed gap. The gap should be about 0.020 inches. Also, be sure to have replaced the ignition condenser during the tune up. Next, I would suspect the coil heats up and shorts out even if it's new. Sounds like a spark problem but don't rule out the fuel filter and fuel pump next. I had 1948 Beetle and a 1972 Super Beetle. The '72 was about ten times faster!! Both were fun to drive.
