I had a similar problem on earlier model SL500, particularly with the alarm. Turns out it was the battery having a low charge. The charge was sufficient to start the car, but for some reason was low enough to create a problem with some of the electronics, including the alarm. Changed out the 5 yr old battery & no problem since. (Still keep my fingers crossed though!)
