Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2003 mercedes c220 CDI.Car has been really great until recently.Couple of weeks ago, while i was driving from sheffield to london,i got this warning message flashed on the screen'Battery/Alternator visit workshop'.Next day the message disappeared so i didnt take it seriously. After a week i got trouble starting  my car in the morning(cold atart). After 4 or 5 attempts car started.I took the car to mercedes and battery got replaced.Couple of days ago,i got the same starting troule again in the morning.Do you know what the reason could be.Help would be appreciated

Yes, or the battery is getting low from cold weather, and the alternator is not charging it to capacity anymore. Batteries are a lot more important in diesel vehicles due to the higher compression/higher energy needed to crank the diesels vs. the gas engines.
