2002 Mercedes C 240 tries starting then dies

Asked by Harold Aug 09, 2019 at 12:08 AM about the 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was sitting idle waiting for someone when the
rpms started fluctuating, After a while it died. I
tried starting it but it would have the same problem
of fluctuating rpms and it would die again. If I tried
putting it in drive or reverse, it would die. Any idea
why?

Are you getting the check engine light on. If you are, have it checked for codes. If not, check fuel pressure at the rail
