The trunk on my Mercedes opens but then closes automatically

The trunk does not stay open . . .it opens then shuts automatically.  Please
advise.

Does it have the auto open feature? It may need new trunk lid supports.

I have the same problem...the trunk opens just fine, then some random time later - like 15-45 seconds - it closes automatically and I have to jump out of the way.

I know it’s a late reply but it might help someone. Check the trunk hinges on the sides of the trunk, one of them must be broken. They are the mechanism next to the trunk struts. Usually the long bottom part that connects to the top of the rear fender gets broken!
