2000 vw passat

I recently bought a 2000 vw passat non turbo
issues were battery drain horn almrm and wet floor
boards. I cleaned the drain changed the battery
bought new ccm car started fine i shut it off for a
couple mins. When i tried again nothing it didn't
even try to turn over just silence but all lights and
everything came on battery is still at good working
level any ideas?
