my 2006 kia specta, i recently noticed brake lights stay on after car is off. if i tap on brake pedal they turn off but sometimes turn back on. what can i do besides the dealer

Look at the brake pedal. there is a switch box mounted to the back of it, make sure it is mounted properly. sometimes you can dislodge them with your foot by accident.

let me clarify, look at the arm of the brake pedal.. the switch box is mounted a few inches above the actual pedal.

Yep. Get your head down there and look up with a flashlight, pretty easy to see and tighten those nuts.
