cranks, does not start

...also, as a result, there is now no sound (hissing)
of fuel pump running. Relays are good, fuses are
good, wiring is good.

If you can't hear the fuel pump running and you have no fuel pressure it is probably a bad fuel pump. Check the fuel filter too.

Thanks! What seemed like a complex job turned out to be quite simple. In fact, the only difficulty was that my back gave out early Monday morning while spraying mosquito repellant around the work area. Ultimately, the fuel pump assembly was replaced and my 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 ( "La Red", as my recently late mother nicknamed it) is up and running and purring like the smooth cool cat that she is. Thanks again.
