i bought a 1990 f 150 the guy was going to take the rear tank off so he cut the wires instead ofunplugging the clip my question is can i put tank back in an reconnect wires that got cut an it work

I would avoid crimp connectors as they will be out in the open. I would solder the wires and use heat shrink tubing. If you choose to go this route be wary of any gasoline fumes that could be ignited by the soldering process.
