Why truck will not go after stop

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Ford F150 V8 four wheel drive. It will
go in reverse and go into Park but when it is in
Drive it will not go I have to press the gas pedal
very hard for the transmission to shift into drive
help me figure this out.
