i put a new ignition switch in my truck but to do it i took apart the top of the column to do so and when i did a piece fell out with a spring and i got it to where it all goes back and i don't know where the spring looking thing goes and now it is like the key aint telling the transmition its on because it wont go into gear it wont shift out of park 5 Answers

with the heater switch on (heater not working), and headlights on (also not working) my truck wont shift into drive from park. also on my dash my hazard lights are solid on with a high beam light on...

My 2001 Ford Truck has an automatic transmission currently when I am in Park it shows on the dash that I am in Reverse, When I shift into Reverse the dash shows that I am in Netreul, this lag happens all the way thru to 2nd, and I have completely lost the ability to shift into 1st gear. Truck still shifts and seems to do fine other wise. Any idea what is causing this? 2 Answers
