Asked by fmbakwa Oct 30, 2014 at 05:45 PM about the 2004 BMW X5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My X5 could not start, I checked  de engine oil and discovered it was full with diesl. Took
the car up open the drain plug and had about 25 litters of oil mixed with diesel. HOW IS
THAT POSSIBLE?

Diesel in the oil means the fuel is pushing past the rings. Either the motor is being over fueled and its forced past the rings or the rings are bad and the engine has no compression.

Thanks vendicator1948. But I think it not possible the rings cuss I drove it the previous day and it was all ok. I was wondering if the injection pump has any connection with oil?

It is not connected. If you drove it yesterday and today you pulled fuel out of the crankcase then some of the injectors are probably stuck open. How did it run yesterday? Any noticeable issues?
