89 f150 overheating...STILL!!!

Asked by PoopyPantz Aug 22, 2016 at 07:41 PM about the 1989 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm hoping somebody can help me
cause I'm out of ideas. My f150 302 5.0
v8 is overheating and overflow boils
over. I strtd out with a new thermostat
with no luck. Then I replaced the water
pump...at first I thought that fixed
it...but it didnt. Guess I just wasn't
running long enough. Now I replaced
the radiator cap and when I got home
last night and shut it off I heard the
overflowbubbling over yet again! I
should also add that the heater isn't
working either. What could it be that
would cause the overheating and not
having any heat?

Hmm, 1989 is 27 going on 28 years.... I hope it's not your internal water jackets..... That would be really bad.... have you considered retirement ??

Try doing a system flush and check ur cooling fan, the clutch might be weak and not blowing enough air

Did you figure it out? I'm having the same problem. And I have a new radiator thermostat water pump engine.
