Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I seemed to have misplaced my truck key and i was wondering if it would be
cheaper to either buy a new key or change the ignition and if you know by chance
a price for either?

would be cheaper to buy a new tumbler and just have the old door key to use like normal. I know a new tumbler set is a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a knew key made especially for such an old truck. I have an 86 myself and have changed the tumbler for around 15$.. Hope this helps

The nice thing about those old fords, is the igniton was the same for everything... trucks, cars, vans everything lol, go to a scrapyard... you'll get a key and ignition real cheap.... or look in friends backyards if they have any old fords laying around/
