can starts off driving normal then 3 or 4 miles it doesn't accelerate then brakes get hard and cuts off

97 camry starts fine, drives up the street 3 or 4 miles then won't accelerated pass thirty forty, then brakes get hard then turns off. wait a few minutes starts the same thing happens. Can't go to far in it. Just got an oil change 2 days before

First I would try cleaning my Idle Air Control Valve. Here's a short how to video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i82s4ZfR2js I would also give the entire throttle body a good cleaning. If after cleaning the IAC, and the problem still persists, I would have the Cat converter checked. When they become plugged the car will not accelerate.
