Key wont go into ignition, but will still start

Asked by Jmillzhonda14 Jul 20, 2020 at 08:38 AM about the 2000 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We got into our 00' honda CRV and the key will only
go into the ignition switch a half inch before it feels
like its hitting something. Now you can still start
the car with and the car will stay running even with
nothing in the ignition switch to turn it off you do
the same thing. We have noticed after you turn the
car off the radio wont shut off by itself so we
know even when off the car is still pulling power
from the battery (trust me jumping it off even with
a new battery is the first step before climbing in)
