Battery Light On After Starter Replacement

Asked by Guru52P3Q Feb 02, 2018 at 09:16 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet HHR

Question type: General

So my car was having starting issues for a couple weeks so I took it to the
mechanic to have it looked over and they put in a new starter. Well, now my
battery light is on and won't go off. I replaced my alternator about two months
ago and tested my battery about a week ago and it was fine. Any Ideas as to
what is causing the problem or how I can fix it?

test the alt for 14+ volts , just because it's new don't mean much , find an OE parts distributor don't buy cheap rebuilt junk

Update on the issue: so the light will come on for about a minute then will go off until I start the car again.
