My 2006 Chevy Aveo has smoke and smells.

Asked by caseyjc Nov 12, 2014 at 06:25 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Aveo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Aveo emits this weird burning smell if I turn sharply sometimes, and this has been
happening for awhile. However, recently I noticed a little bit of white, maybe slightly
gray smoke coming from the hood and it worries me. The car is not overheating and I
recently had the thermostat replaced. I've got about 74,000 miles on the car and I'm
looking to get a new one in the next month or two but I still need to get to work and
back. Any idea if this is serious?

I don't have an answer, but I do have the same question/problem. 2006 Chevy Aveo and it smokes if I turn sharply or come to a rapid stop after driving for a while at freeway speeds.

I have a 2008 aveo5 does the same thing when turning sharp.. please someone Recall this so we can get our cars fixed. It smells like wire insulation burning in my car. No visible smoke in or outside the car.
