Question type: Maintenance & Repair

pulled up to the store with the children and turned on the
remote starter to keep them cool while in store. Module
under steering column caught fire and alarm went off
really loud. Turned car off but horn kept going off so I
disconnected battery. Horn went off but car would not
start. I also have no power to locks, radio, windows, etc
HELP PLEASE

Disconnecting battery would kill everything on a car. It seems your anti theft is activated, and that's not going to reset itself. Not to mention, you had something catch fire. So don't waste your time trying to restart car. It needs to go to a shop and damage to steering column evaluated.

I had to disconnect battery post because alarm would not stop, then I put the post back on and nothing happened. The alarm indicator is still blinking red. The steering column is not damaged just the alarm module (the brain of the alarm) which controls the power of the ignition, locks, windows, etc
