Is the 1971 Chevelle and Malibu the same car or is there a deferance.

I think that technically its called a Chevelle Malibu the same way that it was called a Chevelle Monte Carlo. Manufacturers still do this today. For example the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Camry Solara.
