Sounds like it could be a bad hub or wheel bearing but not being there to check it out for myself that would be my best guess.

Good advise above. Also try this. Drive this vehicle till the noise seems loudest. Shift the tranny into neutral and let's see what happens to the "noise". If the noise stays about the same, you might want to jack up one wheel at a time starting with the rear wheel. Spin each rear wheel as fast as you can. Listen and look at the tire/wheel assembly. You are listening for noises and checking to see if the tire tread has separated. Do the same with the front wheels. Make sure the tranny is in neutral so the wheel and axle can turn freely. Listen/look again for tire tread separation and bearing noise.
