Question type: Maintenance & Repair

so  my lady's subaru legacy 04 actin weird won't
start and if it does it looses power and dies but the
abs  lights came on gauges shut off then shut it off  
and went to go start it and no power what so
ever....its not alternated I took both positive and
negative of battery woke running and it stayed
running...just bought battery so not that ..the  front
gauge  cluster lights flicker so there's a short in
there somewhere
