2004 6cyl automatic Saturn Vue making vibrating noise at 43-45 mph

Asked by Lanai63 Aug 27, 2017 at 02:05 PM about the 2004 Saturn VUE

Question type: General

My 2004 Saturn Vue makes a vibrating
noise and rpm gauge drops to 1000rpms
at 43mph to about 50 mph. Seems to not
know how to shift. I was told to have
tranny  fluid flushed and replaced as it
probably has never been done. Bought the
car from a friend a few days ago and it
was fine then except seemed to shift up &
down a bit more than i thought was normal
at 25-30mph like it couldn't decide what
gear to be in. Does flushing the tranny
really help? Could it be a sensor or
something too? New car to me so I don't
know. Also the dummy light for add
coolant came on briefly yesterday and I
ready that could be due to gunk buildup in
the tranny. True???

My 2006 v6 AWD Vue did that a few years ago. It was some module on the transmission. It turned out that there had been a recall. I bought this car new, still have it, but I never got a notice. Call a GM dealer and ask about it.
