Hi bkuns. You didn't mention if this is a new situation or whether you are new to the car. If you've owned the car for a while and this just started you have probably experienced some sort of failure that will need to be handled professionally. if you are new to the car check for a key release feature, usually a button or lever never where the key is inserted. Beyond that perhaps a call to your local Pontiac Service Manager would yield you results, or better yet bring a fresh cup of coffee to your local Pontiac Service Manager some morning and you can probably cajole him into taking a look. Good luck!

take the shifter from park to drive with the motor off and put the car back in to park push the key in and turn to the off possion and try to remove the key but this will only work if the car has power to the battery
