Loss of power at highway speed but all the low end power I want??

97 Nissan club cab has low end power nut no high end power
of the highway . It just seems to keep losing power when
pedal is floored to drive at highway speed but will drive
30mph n town all day .
   What are the most common causes to look for ?? It is a
standard. Will still burn the tires 8n first & second but falls on
its face in the highway.
