Was something disconnected when the radiator was installed? The radiator has nothing to do with the non-start problem.

I went to o'reilly and he said "my battery is completely dead, which is why my car will not start, i cant boost it, or recharge the battery at all". so i was like "oh okay, i understand that." but what i want to know now is if my battery is complete dead why do my headlights, radio, inside the car lights all come on? i dont understand that part of it if its a dead battery why does everything else come on but the car will not start?
