Hyundai Elantra eco mode

Asked by GuruBCJND Dec 29, 2018 at 07:41 AM about the 2018 Hyundai Elantra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I change from eco mode back to normal
drive? There’s no “drive mode” button near the
gear stick or “eco” button near the steering wheel

Push the button that says "Drive Mode" near your shifter...... Or, look in the manual....

Considering I’ve already said there’s no drive mode button I obviously can’t do that & there was nothing in the manual hence why I’ve reached out here unsuccessfully. I ended up consulting multiple Hyundai service teams and they all said that the 2018 model doesn’t give the driver the option manually to select which mode, instead the car will automatically select which it thinks is most suitable based on your average speed/hour.

I have the same problem with my 2018 Elantra and I have just been told by Hyundai service division that it is an ongoing and unsolved issue. The car will just randomly select a particular 'drive mode' even when there is NO selection button available. I am currently looking into warranty options as the situation is completely unacceptable

Ik it’s kind of late but the drive mode button on the 2018 Elantra is right next to the the stick shift. It’s a little square that says drive mode. I didn’t think I had one either until I looked in the manual.

my car has the eco mode, and you have to push the bottom that you would push to clear the amount of miles you drove on your last fill up. the button you would push to see your odometer for your car. I press it and it has the mode, and it will say on or off, and you would hold the button down till it turns off, and vise versa to turn it on.

Anyone found an answer please? As the above suggestion didn’t work and my car doesn’t have a drive mode button.

Sounds like it depends on the year. My 2013 Elantra has the button, but I get much better gas mileage (according to the MPG display) when it's off.
