2003 automatic hyundai elantra transmission?

I have 2003 automatic hyundai elantra, lately when the car is shifting gears it jerks
harder than usual. It also slightly jerks sometimes when I let off the break before
accelerating, and when first accelerating. Also sometimes when I am accelerating
slowly the engine will get very loud as if I am smashing the pedal. I am pretty sure this
is something with my transmission? Any ideas what could be wrong and if my
transmission can be fixed or needs to be replaced? Also about how much will this
cost?

I would look at the motor mounts...get in there with a prybar and see if they separate easily...change them~

Hyndai has (aka) Chrysler tranys are notorious for failure. We have had 1995 Acent with only 11.000 miles on when we bought it. It was "manager" car. Did religiosly maintence on that car. It didnt make difference. On aprox. 115.000 miles trany went kaput. It did all symptoms below and above mentioned in thes questionaris. Unfortunately only Hyndai dealer know these fantom problems. We even installed used trany fror junk yard, but no avail. Took back used trany to junk yard, reinstall original and took it to local Hyndai. That was about 7 years ago and $2500.00 for rebuild chrysler trany. Very bad experience. The only Hyndai i would buy is 5 speed manual. There you have it. Now i feel much.
