This happened to my 2003 Tribute. Took it to the dealership (figuring they might be a better match because the issue was electrical). They said it was a seatbelt contact issue - $400 fix. I said no way! Took it to my regular mechanic who knows Mazda. He said that this happens because the driver side seat when moved actually slides over the wire housing causing a short in the airbag wire. Vicky, you noticed the light flickers while you're driving - that is because the seat vibrates a little while you're driving thus intermittently knocking the wire or hitting the short. Try adjusting your seat just to see if the light goes out at some position. Anyways, my mechanic replaced the wire for $25 in 2009. Just came on again last year and now I live in a different state. Not sure who I'll take it to now...
