How do i get rid of the governor? Or would it be easier to get another car?

Its a 1994 Ford Thunderbird LX 4.6L V8

you definitely don't need to get another car! I'm not exactly sure how to do it, but I am sure a mechanic can help you with it. It's still cheaper than getting a new car.

you can recalibrate the computer with a chip or programmer, but things like the driveshafts and tires might need to be upgraded
