2015 TC slinging door won’t latch, keeps making a noise

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2015 T&C sliding door sometimes won’t latch
completly.  On hot days it closes and will continue
to try to latch,  just keeps making the latching noise
until we press on the door or manually open it and
slam it shut.

I have a video with the sound but don’t know how
to upload it.

I had the same problem. Tried a lot of things and the solution was WD40 in the mechanism at the back of the door. An aggressive application completely solved the problem.

Well, fall has arrived. It is cooler out now, so for now my problem is solved. Looking forward to bringing up again in late spring. See you all then! :)

Mine does this as well! Apparently we're not alone. I'm shocked that this is not a recall. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-c24092_ds899542

Mine is doing it too the passenger door grinds and will not shut all the way unless you manually do it or bump the back of the door as it tries to shut.
