My van wont make a noise...

Asked by rperry1017 Oct 10, 2014 at 07:51 PM about the 1998 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Thanks for reading my problem,`98 Chrysler T&C, 3.8, 2wd Limited Edition. Here`s the deal, I had drove my van to a place with no problems today and when I tried to start it back up to leave, the motor will start but immediately die out. After a few tries, I attempted to start it again and I get nothing, and I mean nothing. The interior lights turn on and the door chime but when I turn the key, nothing. No clicking or anything. I had cleaned the battery terminals and even tried to bypass the starter, arcing the starter That made it turn over but not actually start. Any EASY ways to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the key, if its a chipped one, has lost it's memory or maybe was damaged. Have you tried a second key? You might have to have a new one made if you don't have a second one.

I do have a second key but it wont turn the ignition, It is pretty worn out. but thanks for responding.
