why is my o/d light flashing?

the o/d light is flashing on my 97 ford thunderbird. we changed the speed
sensor and it did not help. any ideas what else could be the problem? need
help asap

This is a warning of a transmission fault. A transmission shop may be able to read trouble codes to diagnose the problem.
