My 2004 Elantra Hatchback had this problem in early Nov. Turned out there was grit in the system, they replaced the EVAP cannister and EVAP vent valve, also the flex pipe assembly and oxygen sensor. With the welding to fit everything together it came to about $1200.00. They talked about the catalytic converter and the exhaust but were able to work around that. While the problem lasted the engine light was on. Love my hatchback, it often works like a truck with it's fantastic cargo space. How did your problem get resolved?
