my 2003 accent is listed on the papers as a sedan but it appears instead to be the two door hatch.  Is there any other way of confirming whether its a sedan or a hatch

When you say "papers" what exactly do you mean? The title? The property taxes? The window sticker? The owner's manual? Get the vehicle identification number (VIN) and use a trusted website to run the VIN number for you or call your insurance agent and they can run it for you, quickly and not worries about internet malware! :D
