Fuel pump is messing up

So I bought a 2010 cobalt And randomly the fuel
pump will stop priming and after a bit will start
again

Usually the initial [prime is about 2 seconds, then it stops, unless rpm signal, engine cranks. If you recycle the key, yes, it will prime again. I'm not sure I understand your question? Use a gage and check fuel pressure, 50--60 psi, so if right in the middle, should be fine. talking about myself, with engine cranking or running, I can't hear the fuel pump. You could pull fuel pump relay, use jumper wire on switch side of relay, the fuel pump should run, even w/o the key.
