AC air not very cold coming out inside car

Asked by Tom Mar 14, 2016 at 05:57 PM about the 1997 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After it warms up the air coming from ac isn't cold at all. It's like regular air. Is
there some switch that doesn't let hot water from radiator gp through heater
radiator?

If the compressor clutch is not turning at all when the vehicle is at idle and AC on max, you could have a leak and the system is low on refrigerant. If the compressor appears to be working properly then your problem could be at the blend door. Try warming up the vehicle to temperature and switching to "heat". If the air coming out is hot, then switch to cold and see if you can hear the blend door move. If the air stays hot, the problem is within the dash.
