My car when i driving, it cut cut, and when i go to stop it died, what is a problem? Anyone help me

your starter!! put a meter to the alternator and see if your getting any voltage to the unit. are all the lights and parking lights, blinkers, all that stuff, is it all off when it cut off and did your steering wheel lock up? and your breaks lock up or no?
