On a Ford that is a simple answer. You likely need an Ignition Control Module. They are notorious for this. No warning, the engine dies and will turn over until the cows come home, but won't start. Wait about 30 minutes and it goes like there was never anything wrong.

Had this problem on mine when the fuel was low below half a tank. Turns out the tank has lots of crud in it. The fuel pump strainers were buried in it. So when the fuel level dropped and it all ran to the front the engine would die. Bought a new tank on ebay for approx $100 and put on new fuel pump strainers and cleaned it thoroughly and it runs well even now.
